20 august 2010 - Koszyce, al. Słowackiego Powstania Narodowego. (9). Pracownicy dopravnego podnika tego miasta wybitnie nieprzyzwyczajeni do fotografii komunikacyjnej. Kierowcy grozili cytuje "zajebaniem gaśnicą", "rozbiciem tego gówna" (o aparacie), a jeden chciał mnie gonić, ale ze względu na swoje lata się poddał. Trolejbusiarze zatrzymywali się celem pozdrowienia hawajskim gestem na szczęście... Motorniczowie jeszcze spoko - bez emocji. Dwóch mrugnęło nawet długimi! Ale szczególnie chciałbym pozdrowić Pana na zdjęciu - jedyny człowiek, który się uśmiechnął i pomachał, czytaj uratował honor tego miasta ;)

1 may 2004 - Kosice (SK) - Hlavne namestie. I was reminded today that on 1 May 2004 many of you in Eastern Europe joined the European Union – welcome, everyone, and I hope it has been good for you. I was in Kosice on that day eight years ago (some party!) and there was a nice display of trams and old vehicles in the city centre, including this coach. I have no idea what it is, and couldn’t get the very big crowds out of the way to take a good picture, but I hope someone can identify it? The badge on the front says ‘ARDO’ or similar (a Carosa, maybe?) and the registration is from Bardejov, a Slovak city a little to the north.

2 may 2004 - Kosice, Slovakia - Zeleznicna Stanica. At the main railway station. T3 423 is the local tram fans’ ‘pet’ and they say it is the fastest tram in the fleet. I was given a demonstration ride by one of the young fans who is also a driver – VERY scary!

Kosice has sold several KT8Ds to other operators, even though they were the most modern trams in the fleet – perhaps they were just too big and expensive to run. 512 remains in use, however, and this all-over white paint is probably in preparation for an advertising scheme.

1 may 2004 - Kosice, Slovakia – Zeleznicna Stanica. Kosice trams loop in front of the main railway station to provide a convenient interchange – most routes come here. These two cars are in a more recent turquoise and white colour scheme. Tram 613 is standing on the ‘dead’ section of the loop, not used by normal services, and is waiting to form a peak-hour extra to the steelworks.

The tram came from Ostrava, where it was their #683 - I think Kosice scrapped all theirs. *** I nearly forgot - a Happy New Year to all TWB users! ***

29 april 2002 - Kosice, Slovakia - Stare Mesto. This replica horse tram runs occasional trips along the non-electrified tracks through Kosice city centre. The tram has fleet number '1' which is a bit confusing, as this number is already used by a motor tram. I don't think the horse has a fleet number......

This 1920 Ringhoffer was once Praha 363 and is now a museum tram in Kosice - the paint job doesn't look very authentic! Cruising along behind is their gorgeous Tatra T2 - any excuse for another photo.....
