7 june 2013 - Wien (AT) – Taborstrasse. One of the large collection of works trams operated by Wiener Linien, seen on an unidentified journey through the city. This is Type LH and is a general-purpose vehicle, often used in winter for snow clearing.

8 may 2007 - Depot/zajezdnia Gurtel. Just three of the snow ploughs at one depot – there are over forty of these trams, all to this standard design! However, when these were built, lots of very old and very interesting works cars were withdrawn – thankfully, some went to the Wien Tramway Museum.

8 may 2007 - Wien/Vienna (AT) – depot/zajezdnia Gurtel. To maintain their huge tram network, Wiener Linien has many works cars, including lots to this standard 1980s design, which are normally coupled to a salt trailer for snow clearing duties. Every depot has some and they always look in perfect condition. This design was built in Wien’s own workshops from old Type L4 passenger trams.

4 october 2008 - Timisoara – zajezdia/museum Take Ionescu. This Wien Type L4 tram was presented to RATT by Wiener Linien in 2005, for use as a special historic car. It retains its traditional red livery. There doesn’t appear to be a regular tourist service here, though.

6 may 2007 - Wien/Vienna – Erdberg tramway museum. Car 4301 is an experimental Type D tram from 1957, built by Graf und Stift. It was constructed by joining two 1926 four-wheelers together to form this articulated vehicle (in England, we call this type “two rooms and a bath”). This was the first of many articulated cars in the Wien fleet

Simmering-Graz-Pauker Type L tram #502
6 may 2007 - Wien/Vienna – Erdberg tramway museum. Car 502 is a typical Wien tram of the 1960s and was designed to run with a matching trailer. As you can see, the museum is quite good for photos, as the trams are spaced out and the lighting is excellent.
